PRP Therapy

A Natural Approach to Rejuvenation
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood and contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. PRP therapy has been used for years in orthopedic medicine to repair ligament and joint damage and in reconstructive surgery to accelerate wound healing. Now, its benefits are being applied to dermatology for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?

PRP-based therapies are safe and natural. Procedures involving PRP concentrate the good cells and growth factors from your own body directly back into the area where they are needed. Since PRP treatments use your own blood cells, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection. The collection process is simple and is comparable to that of a standard lab draw. The blood is then spun in a special centrifuge that separates red blood cells and plasma from the platelet rich plasma (PRP).

Hair Loss

In treating patients with hair loss, PRP is placed back into the scalp by injection. The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive hair follicles into anagen phase, the active growth phase. Most patients see regrowth after a series of monthly treatments determined by your provider.

Skin Rejuvenation

Injectable PRP therapy uses your stem cells to stimulate the growth of new collagen, revitalize skin tissue, and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You may choose to add this to a procedure to enhance the results and speed recovery. Aesthetic PRP injections can be used as a stand-alone rejuvenation treatment in place of dermal fillers or injected into areas of crepey skin.

Aesthetic PRP is pregnancy safe.
